Jon is a partner and Joint Deputy Head in our award-winning and Legal 500 Recommended Private Client team and a member of our award-winning Elderly Client and Vulnerable adult team.
Jon was Highly Commended Lawyer of the Year in the 2023 Surrey Law Society Legal Awards, a fitting recognition of his excellent contribution to the profession and his technical knowledge.
Jon qualified from the University of Surrey with a Law Degree in 2010 before completing the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in 2012. Before joining Howell Jones, he worked for Owen White & Catlin in Addlestone. Jon works with Howell Jones as a senior solicitor in the Wills and Probate team. In 2019, Jon became a full member of The Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP). As a full STEP member, Jon is a recognised expert in his field, with proven qualifications and experience. Jon was promoted to Partner in 2024.
Jon specialises in preparing Wills and providing advice regarding Inheritance Tax planning. Jon is also experienced in preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney and making applications to the Court of Protection for Deputyship Orders.
Jon also has an extensive knowledge of Probate matters and handles a wide range of estates, including complex cases worth millions of pounds.
Jon is a keen supporter of local charities and he has worked closely with Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Princess Alice Hospice to raise thousands of pounds.
Outside of work, Jon’s main passion is football. He is a qualified Football Association Referee and has previously officiated on The National League – the highest level of the non-league system. He also enjoys travelling.
