overview

Sophie works in our Dispute Resolution and Corporate Teams. She has a law degree from the University of Surrey and completed her Legal Practice Course in 2019 while obtaining an LLM in Professional Legal Practice. Sophie was promoted to Associate Solicitor in 2024.

Sophie’s work covers a wide range of disputes, including shareholder/partnership, professional negligence, contract, and insolvency litigation. She has much experience in property litigation and has established an enviable knowledge of residential and commercial property litigation law. This includes statutory-based work (lease extensions, collective enfranchisement, rights of first refusal), possessions, forfeiture and re-entry, ground rent disputes, dilapidations, and commercial lease renewals. Her work spans the First Tier Property Tribunal, County Court, and High Court litigation (particularly the Insolvency and Companies Court) and associated settlement work.

Sophie’s shareholder and partnership litigation work complements her corporate work on share sales/purchases, shareholders’ agreements, and restructures. She also works on framework agreements dealing with historic ground rent clauses.

Her case work involves liaising with many lawyers, including Government departments such as the Treasury Solicitor and Competition and Markets Authority.

Sophie was shortlisted in the category of Rising Star of the Year in the 2021 SLS Legal Awards, a fitting recognition of her excellent progression and knowledge that subsequently led to her 2024 promotion to Associate Solicitor.

In her spare time, Sophie enjoys watching Arsenal Football Club, running, and spending time with friends and family.

Some of Sophie’s most notable work includes:

  • Boultbee Brooks (Lamb Walk) LLP (in Liquidation) (successful Application for a vesting order of part after disclaimer by Liquidators).
  • Madiston Plc v Emoneyhub (contract interpretation and recovery of damages).
  • De La Fosse v Armstrong (successful contentious probate with arguments going to joint tenancy of property).
  • Framework Agreement working with the Competitions and Markets Authority.
  • Assisting in advising on and preparing evidence in the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry.
